  • Goodness Baked Right In: We sent 500 freshly baked brownies from the social entrepreneur Khaya Cookie Company to over 300 soldiers in Iraq. (December 2006)
  • Spreading the Inconvenient Truth: We sent the DVD, An Inconvenient Truth, to 221 high school science teachers in cities where Yahoo! has a major presence including Sunnyvale, Burbank, Santa Monica, Hillsboro, and New York. (November 2006)
  • Parking for Good: Yahoo! paid for a week of parking for all cancer patients at the Stanford Comprehensive Cancer Center from October 9-13. (October 2006)
  • Comfort Food: On the fifth anniversary of 9/11, Yahoo! quietly catered a lunch for firefighters at the Ladder 10 Company of the New York City Fire Department to honor their ongoing courage and heroism. (September 2006)
  • Up with the Arts: We rolled out the red carpet for Bayview Hunter’s Point Center for Arts and Technology summer program graduates by providing each person with a schwag bag filled with picture frames, art supplies and disposable cameras. We also supplied two professional-quality SLR digital cameras and a color photo printer to the program itself. (August 2006)
  • Connecting Kids: We connected two low income schools in San Francisco and India. The San Francisco students were asked to brainstorm materials they thought the Indian students needed most and compared it to another list of materials they brainstormed for themselves. Yahoo! then went on a shopping spree to cover the essential items on both lists. The students from each school continue to stay in touch with each other through e-mail and share digital photos (taken with the digital cameras provided by Yahoo!). (July 2006)
  • Play Ball!: We sent 200 low-income YMCA children from San Francisco to go to a Giants baseball game at AT&T Park. (June 2006)
  • Kids Rock: We sent 200 homeless youth from Los Angeles to the opening night at the Hollywood Bowl. (June 2006)
  • Movie Night: We sponsored showings of the global warming documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” for 400 environmentally conscious, low-income students in Los Angeles and New York. (May 2006)
  • Returned and Reunited: We flew a severely wounded soldier to meet his battalion when they returned from Iraq. (April 2006)
  • Back to School Shopping Spree: We sponsored a school supply shopping spree for 6th graders in Milpitas, asking the students what they thought they needed most—and then provided those items. (March 2006)
